Investigators believe the suspect is familiar with the area near the victims’ residence. Since his whereabouts remain unknown, police plan to launch a public search starting on the 24th.

The victims were identified as Sumie Tanaka, 74, and her second daughter Chihiro Tanaka, 52, both unemployed and living in the same home.

According to authorities, the bodies were discovered on the morning of the 19th. Sumie was found near the entrance on the first floor, while Chihiro was found lying nearby in a hallway. Both had suffered severe blood loss.

Autopsy results showed that Sumie died from hemorrhage, while Chihiro died from hemorrhagic shock. Both victims had deep stab wounds to the neck and multiple injuries to the upper body. Defensive wounds were also identified, suggesting they attempted to resist the attack.

Police estimate the murders occurred around the 13th.

The murder weapon has not been found. Authorities established a homicide investigation task force on the 21st.

Investigators stated there were no signs of forced entry or robbery inside the residence. Wallets containing cash and bankbooks remained untouched, and no signs of sexual assault were reported.

Police continue investigating possible connections or disputes between the suspect and the victims.
